There are an overwhelming number of choices to make on a daily basis. In the chaos of life, the line between good and evil often seems to vanish. I seek to explore that moment of pause when I realize that there is no correct answer, that there is always another side to the story, that the complexities of the world are infinite. I use my expression through clay as a means to answer the unanswerable, to allow my mind to wander through the murky waters of how I imagine the world works.
I borrow textures, colors, designs and patterns from things that make my heart ache, things that make my ears perk up, and put them together in a way that makes sense to me in that moment. Sometimes this means combining disparate concepts, trying out those ever-present ‘what ifs’ that clutter my mind. Other times it means making simple, humble pieces, in an attempt to hold on to that naïve idea of an unshakable good.
